As I write are fast approaching the end of 2016.
We started the year full of drive and ambition and with high hopes for what we might achieve, and finished it having achieved most of what we set out to do having continued to grow our business by retaining most of our customers and adding many more.
The year has not been without its challenges though, particularly over the last few months when we lost one member of the service team through “long term sickness”, and then two engineeers in the space of a few months left the company. We will have some exciting news in January when we hope to have two new starters – both of whom have a wealth of knowledge in the engineering sector.
Other changes to the team include the appointment of Inna Vasiljeva to the team as administrator with responsibility for marketing, and yet another generation of the family has joined the business in the form of Becky Ward in Customer Services. We’ve also replaced two of our old vans with shiny new ones!
On the equipment sales side, we have already passed last years figure despite having three months to go in our financial year so we look like exceeding our ambitious targets for the year by the time our financial year ends in March.
We have also this year taken the decision to separate the two sides of our business with Sarah Clift now moving completely over to manage Cafe Azzurro Services, who provide short term equipment rentals and staff for the exhibition industry, whilst we were delighted to welcome Nicki Willetts to the board of the Cafe Azzurro Coffee Company Limited after sterling work as our Sales Manager. The separation was put in place in the light of the pending retirement of our founder Craig Ward which is scheduled to take place in July 2017, but knowing Craig he will probably still be around in some capacity!
We are currently finalising our plans for the next financial year which promises to be even more exciting than this one has been!
I hope to be able to report on our plans in our Spring blog!
